Hot or Not?

In light of everyone's fascination with that butt-ugly boot I posted last week I thought, "Hey! Let's do a whole bunch of picks of clothes that boarder between cute and fugly and let the readers be the judge." So here's what's hot this fall. As they used to say in radio land, circa 1992, "Pump it or dump it?"

Exhibit A: Gauchos with boots

I like it. But then ... I don't like it. I do like that wide leg pants are "in" again. Plus I love boots with almost anything.

Exhibit B: Fug with boots

A similar outfit with a different outcome - it's ugly. I mean, what is that? Velvet? And the boots? Cute, but why were they sentenced to such an ugly outfit? Did the cute boots shoot a man in Reno just to see him die?

Exhibit C: From Russia With Love

Um, love the man. Hate the hat. Can I just get the man? I'll take the man, please.

Exhibit D: Austin Powers he's the man for you ...

She went for Mod and Mod is nice, but, dude, the jewelry and the swirlies? I like retro but this is a time warp I'll pass on.

Exhibit E: Poncho eats little girl

Uh ... no.

Exhibit F: Coming to a JC Penneys near you - Grandma Fug

I know the model is trying to make this sexy but my mom totally wouldn't wear this and she's 60. The black cuffs on the pants are literally killing me.

All are not hot. The main problem with the gauchos, or "wide leg trousers" is that they are made with such flimsy cotton material that you can see EVERYTHING. And I don't like seeing cottage ass cheese. Yucka. The second outfit used to be on my grandmas couch. Seriously it reminds me of those rust colored velour couches from back in the day with little flowers all over.....The man? I want the man. Even if he is a Russian Guard, or just likes to wear badgers on his head, I don't care. And his pants are half undone, so he's prepared. I like that. I choked on my coffee
with the fourth picture, picturing in my head a poncho monster growling and snarling as it crawls on the playground to hunt for more little girls. And last but not least, the 80's suit-capri-thing. All she needs is a really funky do, like ratted bangs and a mean side part, some blue eyeshadow, and some frosty pink lipstick. She'll win any 80's costume contest hands down. Oh, but Halloween already passed......she's prepared for next year.

Oh my gosh I forgot one! The Pucci swirly thingy dress! Nice chicken McNugget necklace. It's good though, she needs to eat something.
