ATTENTION GEEKS!
Kern County is having it's first ever Renaissance Fair. Yes. I said it. Renaissance Fair. With Queen Bess (That's Elizabeth the First to you, serf!), fencing, juggling, magic and Shakespeare, old school style. The whole thing has a pirate theme and I'm just going to guess that one of you adorable little geeks is going to try to pull off some Capt. Jack Sparrow action. Go geeks go! Run geeks run! It's happening the weekend of June 11 and 12th at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Bring the kids. And it's a benefit for Catholic Charities. Admission is only $6! There's gonna be food. (I'm hoping for one of those giant turkey legs myself. Not that I've ever been to a Ren Fair, but they've got to have large turkey legs, right?) Check for my article in The Californian next Thursday. I'm considering going in a Star Fleet uniform and pretending like I'm on "Star Trek Next Generation" and that me and Patrick Stewart are in some weird computer program.
